Glasgow-based young people’s theatre company Toonspeak has dramatically improved its range of training opportunities thanks to online learning.
Artistic director, Sarah Longfield, said: “The flexibility of online learning is what initially attracted us. It provided us with the opportunity to improve our professional and personal development, without leaving our premises.
Toonspeak provides drama and theatre activities for 11-25 year olds living in the North of Glasgow.
Sarah explains: “We like to involve young people in the day to day running of the theatre, and online learning has helped us achieve this. For example, some young people have been working with our project co-ordinator to design our summer newsletter.
“Another of our young people recently completed the Microsoft Excel course, which was of great benefit as he is the treasurer of the Christmas cabaret planning committee.
“Our work with learndirect scotland for business has opened our eyes to the advantages of online learning, and it has enabled us to increase the range of training and development opportunities we offer our people.”
